Carbon-in-Leach
Carbon-in-Leach (CIL) Process: A Combined Leaching and Adsorption Method The Carbon-in-Leach (CIL) process is an efficient gold extraction
Activated carbon matters in modern gold extraction, serving as the primary medium for adsorbing dissolved gold from cyanide leaching solutions. At YanShan Carbon, we manufacture premium-grade gold recovery activated carbon engineered to deliver exceptional performance in Carbon-in-Pulp (CIP), Carbon-in-Leach (CIL), and Carbon-in-Column (CIC) operations. Browse our products here.
Our activated carbon products are designed with optimal pore structure, high mechanical strength, and superior gold loading capacity—ensuring maximum recovery rates while minimizing carbon losses. Whether you’re operating a large-scale mining facility or a smaller extraction plant, YanShan Carbon provides reliable, cost-effective solutions that enhance efficiency and profitability throughout your gold recovery process.

Selecting the right activated carbon directly impacts your gold recovery rates, operational costs, and overall profitability. YanShan Carbon’s gold recovery products are specifically engineered for the demanding conditions of mining environments.

Superior Adsorption Capacity
Our activated carbon features a highly developed micropore structure that maximizes gold adsorption from cyanide solutions. With gold loading capacities exceeding 25 kg Au/tonne of carbon, our products consistently outperform industry standards, helping you capture more gold per cycle.
Exceptional Hardness and Durability
Mining operations are tough on activated carbon. Our coconut shell-based carbon achieves hardness ratings above 97%, dramatically reducing carbon attrition and losses during pumping, screening, and regeneration. Lower carbon losses mean lower operating costs and fewer fine carbon particles contaminating your tailings.
Consistent Quality and Performance
Every batch of YanShan activated carbon undergoes rigorous quality control testing, including iodine number, abrasion resistance, moisture content, and particle size distribution analysis. This ensures predictable, reliable performance across your entire gold recovery operation.

Buying gold recovery activated carbon should start with a trusted factory. We’ ve been in this business over a decade and our factory is mainly producing and manufacturing activated carbon for gold recovery. Our activated carbon offers superior hardness, optimal pore structure, and exceptional gold adsorption capabilities. Each batch undergoes rigorous quality testing to ensure consistent performance in your gold recovery circuit.
These differences between gold extraction methods affect your selection of the optimal activated carbon for your specific operation.
Carbon-in-Pulp (CIP) (H3)
The CIP process separates leaching and adsorption into two distinct stages. First, gold ore is leached with cyanide solution in a series of tanks. The gold-bearing slurry then moves to adsorption tanks where activated carbon captures the dissolved gold. CIP is ideal for ores that leach quickly and operations where separate process control is preferred.
Carbon-in-Leach (CIL) (H3)
CIL combines leaching and adsorption in a single stage—activated carbon is added directly to the leaching tanks. This simultaneous process reduces gold losses from preg-robbing ores (ores containing naturally occurring carbon that can re-adsorb gold). CIL typically requires less tankage and capital investment than CIP systems.
Carbon-in-Column (CIC) (H3)
CIC is used for heap leach operations where gold-bearing solution flows through columns packed with activated carbon. This method is cost-effective for lower-grade ores and smaller operations. CIC requires carbon with excellent hardness to withstand the column environment without excessive fines generation.
