Composite media filter

Composite media filter

Composite media filters (also known as spot filters) have become the mainstream solution for tobacco pest reduction technology by uniformly mixing activated carbon with cellulose acetate fibers to construct a dual purification structure of “physical interception+chemical adsorption”. This type of filter uses specialized activated carbon with low dust and high durability. Its developed micropores can selectively adsorb harmful gas-phase substances such as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and phenols from the Hofmann analysis list. Combined with the particle interception function of the fiber skeleton, it achieves a dual effect of tar retention rate of 30% -35% and gas-phase substance removal rate of over 80%. The CelFX filter technology uses special adhesives to fix activated carbon in a porous matrix, allowing for efficient utilization of 90% of the carbon material’s micropores. This optimizes smoke softness without increasing suction resistance and avoids the acidification problem of traditional fiber bundle filters.

  • Gas phase harmful substances: Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (such as benzo [a] pyrene), phenolic compounds (such as phenol and catechol), aldehydes (such as formaldehyde and acetaldehyde), and some volatile organic compounds (such as toluene and xylene) in the Hofmann analysis list can be removed with a removal rate of over 80%;
  • Trace harmful elements: Through chemical adsorption on the surface of activated carbon, a small amount of nicotine (reducing inhalation) and carbon monoxide (auxiliary adsorption, requiring fiber pore interception) can be intercepted;
  • Odorous substances: Absorb the impurities generated by tobacco combustion (such as burnt and irritating odors), improve the taste of smoke, and avoid the problem of sourness in traditional filters.
