POE is a “whole house level” water purification device installed at the main inlet of household tap water, which is equivalent to setting up a “first line of defense” for the whole family’s water use. Its core function is to preliminarily purify all tap water entering the home and provide basic filtration for all subsequent water use scenarios (such as washing, laundry, kitchen water, etc.).
The filtration process usually includes “pre filtration+core filter material”, in which activated carbon is an important component: through the porous structure of activated carbon, it can adsorb residual chlorine (remove chlorine odor after disinfection of tap water), discoloration (such as rust color and earthy yellow color in water), odor (such as fishy smell and disinfectant smell), as well as some organic pollutants (such as volatile organic compounds such as chloroform and carbon tetrachloride) in water.
Applicable scenarios: Suitable for households with overall poor water quality (such as heavy residual chlorine and obvious odor) and those who want to purify all their water initially. It can protect subsequent water related appliances (such as washing machines and water heaters), reduce the damage of scale and pollutants to equipment. However, it should be noted that POE filtered water is usually not recommended for direct consumption and needs to be paired with terminal water purification equipment.
